A healthy menu |
Hey all I am looking for a very nutritional menu for my son. I am seeing all these moms give in and take their kids through the drive thru's and that is fine I just don't want that for my son. I was wondering if anyone has any healthy recipes they would like to share. I have a few if you would like to swap that would be great. |

Hi Toni,
eating healthy food is rule number one in my house, no lollipop, no candies, no junk food of any sort. I don't think I deprived my kids of any happiness!
When they were one year old, I would steam vegetables, and fish and everything under the earth. I would mix fruit and that was their snack.
I am totally with you, there is no obbligation in falling in the food industry junk if we make a little effort!
Happy meals...

Thank you Vero for the comment I just figured out yesterday how to get to this page. I know I am a little slow with technology but I am getting there. My husband and I growing up had all the junk food we could get and we both want our son to be strong healthy and happy and don't let me forget energetic. Again thank you. |

Toni, I think one of the reasons parents so often feed their children fast food or less healthy packaged foods at home is because it is faster. Planning ahead can help to eliminate the need. I do things like make a double batch of beef stew or tomato sauce, then freeze half. That way I have it available for the times when I don't have time to cook a meal from scratch. Or when I cook meat I cook extra meat for another meal. For instance, If I am making meatballs, I buy the larger package of ground beef. Instead of freezing the rest of it, I brown it in a frying pan, then put it in the refrigerator for another meal, say tacos, the next day. It saves the time of planning ahead to defrost the meat then cook it. |
