Hi, I am Rebecca and I am relatively new to the site...I signed up about 2 weeks ago. I have one son, age almost 10 months and qualify as a "late" mother since I am in my late 30's. I am looking to connect with other mothers with young children since most of my friend have older kids or none at all.

Welcome to the site, Reji. I am also a new mom, and in my 30s... with no friends who have kids. Most people I know just aren't having kids, or if they are, they did a long time ago (just like you said). So, it sounds like we have some things in common.

I grew up in California; I've lived in 7 states; and I currently reside in Arizona. I recently graduated with my M.A. in Art Education, and I consider myself an artist - a printmaker.

I look forward to chatting with you. Hopefully I can offer some advice (albeit new mother advice) as my little one (daughter, Jaislyn) is just turning two on the 25th. Take care. ~Jamie

I am also new to this site- I don't spend much time at the computer- and I am also a "late" mother (I'm 39) with 2 girls, one is 7 and the other is 15 months. Most people I know are younger than me and their kids are close in age, so playdates don't work out since I have to pick up a child at school in the afternoon. Also, I am new to being a stay-at-home mom, having worked for 11 years as a teacher here in Texas. Hard to make the switch to being at home. I am looking forward to chatting with you since we seem to have some things in common as well. Hopefully I can also give some advice, having already been through alot with my first child.
Talk to ya'll later. Jennifer

Hey, thanks for the comments and it is nice to meet both of you. My son will turn 1 in July and it is hard to find moms my age with infants or very small children and I really don't have all that much in common anymore with most of the 20 somethings. I am a working mother...teacher for 13 years and it is hard leaving the little guy each morning. Fortunately he is with his grandma so I can check up on him all day. But, school is out on June 6 so I am looking forward to being a SAHM all summer.
